Balvenie 14 YO Weak of Peat 0,7l 48,3%

Balvenie 14 YO The Week of Peat is a distinctive Speyside single malt whisky created as part of The Balvenie Stories series. This release reflects a unique moment in the distillery’s annual production cycle, when peated malt is used for just one week each year. This brief deviation from tradition gives the whisky a subtle smoky character while preserving the hallmark elegance and balance of the Speyside style. The whisky is matured for 14 years in selected oak casks, allowing sweetness, smoke, and oak influence to integrate naturally. Bottled at 48.3% ABV, it delivers depth and intensity while remaining smooth and approachable.
The flavour profile is layered and well balanced. It opens with notes of honey and vanilla, characteristic of Balvenie, followed by ripe fruit and gentle citrus tones. As the palate develops, a soft veil of peat smoke emerges, refined rather than dominant. This is complemented by light spice and dry oak, adding structure and complexity. The finish is long, smooth, and gently smoky, with returning honeyed sweetness and subtle woody dryness. The six key flavours are honey, vanilla, citrus, peat, oak, and gentle spice.
The Balvenie Distillery was founded in 1892 by William Grant in Dufftown and remains one of the most traditional distilleries in Scotland. Balvenie is renowned for maintaining five rare crafts on site, including traditional floor malting and an in-house cooperage. The Week of Peat exemplifies the distillery’s ability to innovate while respecting its heritage, offering a refined and unconventional take on peated Speyside single malt whisky.

The Balvenie – tradition, craft and time in Scottish form
The Balvenie is one of the few Scottish distilleries that still maintains its traditional production methods in the 21st century. It is located in the town of Dufftown in Speyside, a region considered the heart of Scottish single malt whisky. The distillery was founded in 1892 by William Grant, founder of William Grant & Sons, and remains in family hands to this day.
