Stewart MBE chose to mature in mostly American oak barrels specially made for Balvenie at the Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Balvenie – tradition, craft and time in Scottish form
The Balvenie is one of the few Scottish distilleries that still maintains its traditional production methods in the 21st century. It is located in the town of Dufftown in Speyside, a region considered the heart of Scottish single malt whisky. The distillery was founded in 1892 by William Grant, founder of William Grant & Sons, and remains in family hands to this day.
