Bache-Gabrielsen is a medium-sized family-owned cognac house with an international history. Founded in 1905, the company recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. With its clean design, Cognac Bache-Gabrielsen occupies a prominent position in the cognac market, exporting mainly to the Scandinavian countries. Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, the fourth generation at the helm of the company, is certainly aware that the cognac industry is changing, the international market is strongly developed and marketing strategies are being refined to cater to a younger, more fashionable consumer base. Given the size of the company compared to the major cognac houses, it is surprising to find that this Norwegian cognac brand is the market leader in cognac sales in Norway!

Presented in an extra special decanter, which has been aged in oak barrels for an average of two decades, but due to its premium quality, some of the cognacs contained in it have been aged for up to 30 years, this harmonious blend is a testament to the Norwegian producers in the Cognac sector. Bache Gabrielsen Premium XO Cognac is exceptionally smooth, yet lively and fruity. The aromas of jasmine and iris perfectly match the fruity flavours of banana and plum, as well as notes of roasted hazelnuts, candied fruit, almonds and mocha. On the palate, the cognac is still lively despite its age, revealing famous and subtle rancio hints.

Using a blend of Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes, Bache Gabrielsen selected the best grapes grown in the Fins Bois, Petite Champagne and Grande Champagne terroirs. Fins Bois produces a rich and powerful aroma with a hint of the maritime climate, while the Fine Champagne crus are known for their exceptional aging potential and smoothness. Bache Gabrielsen carefully selected eaux-de-vie from each of these crus to perfectly encapsulate their Premium XO.
